Orchestrated work environments

A work environment is the substrate where interaction happens: the surface, the affordances, the choreography of the agents that share a goal. As more of that substrate becomes computational and as more of the agents become non-human, the environment stops being something users adapt to and starts being something that has to be designed and reasoned about end-to-end.

Owesys builds and studies environments where the orchestration is explicit. The work is not smuggled into a chat box. It lives in a structure that the participants (human or otherwise) can see, edit, and contest.

The premise is that calibrated structure beats both the bureaucratic structure of legacy enterprise software and the under-structure of LLM-as-everything UX. Most current AI work product collapses into one of those two failure modes. There is room for a third.
